Ford Y-block engine - The Y-block engine is a V8 automobile piston engine from Ford Motor Company. It was introduced in 1954 to replace the Ford L-Head engine and was replaced by the Ford FE engine (on larger cars) and the Ford Windsor engine (on smaller cars) in 1962, and lasted until 1964 in Ford trucks.

Ford FE engine - The Ford FE engine was Ford's big block V8 engine range sold in the North American market between 1958 and 1976. It replaced the Ford Y-block engine and in turn was replaced by the Ford 385 engine series.

Ford 385 engine - The Ford 385 engine family was the American Ford Motor Company's final big block V8 engine design, replacing the Ford MEL engine and gradually superseding the Ford FE engine family. This design was a departure from the paradigm utilizing thinwall casting methods and a skirtless block to reduce weight.

Ford Pinto engine - The Ford Pinto engine is the unofficial but ubiquitous nickname for a 4 cylinder internal combustion engine built by the Ford Motor Company in Europe. In Ford sales literature it was referred to as the EAO or OHC engine, it is also sometimes called the Metric engine since it was designed using the metric system.

The first production Ford Mustang, a white convertible with black interior, rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9, 1964 and via all three American television networks on April 17, 1964 and was later introduced to the North American public as a two-seat roadster then later as a two-seat roadster then later as a four-place car and penned by David Ash and Joseph Oros in Ford's Lincoln-Mercury Division design studios (theirs was the winning design in an intramural design contest called by Iacocca), the base, yet well-equipped Mustang hardtop with its "long hood/short deck" styling reminiscent of designs such as the Lincoln Continental and two seat Ford Thunderbird with an intentional touch of Ferrari at the New York World's Fair on April 19 that year by the Ford Motor Company. Ford Mustang is a popular compact car originally based on the 19 near-pandemonium such ford engine numbers.
